Step into the Wild Challenge - Day 6

Day 6 - The wind…

Ever think about where the wind has been? The trees it’s blown through, the water it’s rippled, the tears it has dried, or the laughter it’s carried?

One of my favourite nature “sounds” is the sound of wind blowing through the trees. There is a actually a word for this Psithurism (Sith-e-ur-ism). Say that 3 times fast! Maybe it takes me back to childhood memories of our cottage in BC when a storm would whip through the pines before the rain came – which meant a day inside snuggled in sleeping bags and reading old comic books (okay – I’m dating myself here..)

We’ll have some fun with wind in the coming days, but today’s challenge is just to experience the wind …

When you go outside today, take a full minute and feel the wind. Notice how it feels on your face. Feel it ebb and flow as it moves around you. Listen to see if you can hear it in the trees. If there is no wind, experience the stillness and then watch for little puffs of breeze as they happen.

Make notes in your journal if you’re keeping one, on any wind “memories” you have and how today’s challenge felt, or if you like, share in the comments below.

Mark done when your challenge is complete.
